"La Misa Cubana" offers anyone who loves the joy of singing in choir, a unique opportunity to combine the classical European sacred music with inciting Latin American folklore.

With Cuban composer José Maria Vitier's beautiful, intense, and heartfelt music as a turning point, we offer a workshop led by some of Denmark's best musicians, singers and dancers as instructors and co-actors, to which choirs and individual singers can sign up, and together perform the mass at a concert, which will be the festive ending to an intense workshop, during which all participants are offered the rare possibility to immerse themselves, not only in classical singing and Latin American folklore, but also in traditional Cuban dance and percussion.

Ahead of this unique project stands the Argentinean DK residing conductor Saul Zaks; An ardent, charismatic, musical entrepreneur, who with equal amount of authority and South American passion will lead us through a wonderful blend of traditional sacred music (including the Latin mass movements Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Hosanna and Agnus Dei), added the traditional Latin American folklore with its festivity and colors!

He is backed by a carefully selected team of Danish and DK residing Latin American singers, musicians and dancers, all with solid backgrounds in both classical and Latin American music, accompanied by a string ensemble of professional level.

All in all, this team offers an outstanding, specialized knowledge of the music itself and its background, with in-depth understanding of its particular swing and language.
